“ I used to go here a lot when I worked in the area (over 7 years ago) and this was my first time back post-pandemic. NYC changes a lot over time but this place keeps on going because it is that good. Charming ambiance. Excellent and kind service. Small but great wine list and amazing food at reasonable prices for the area (i.e not $80-100 an entree). I have a gluten allergy so appreciate that everything is labeled and most of the menu is available. ”
“ Food is great Service is great! Kids loved it! Calamari very good Warm goat cheese delicious ”
“ Solid French bistro. Excellent service from Angelo. Onion soup was perfect. Moules/frites also good. A little small on the size but great seasoning. Quiet ambiance. Will return. ”
“ My boyfriend and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary last night at the restaurant. It didn't disappoint us. We had a corner table and able to sit side by side (this made it easy for sharing the delicious food) with candlelight behind us. It was dimly lit and some smooth jazz playing in the background. The noise level was perfect and we were able to have a conversation without having to yell. Vibes were romantic. Apps: Foie gras, steak tartare, and jumbo shrimp Entrees: braised lamb shank and duck Rankings 1) Lamb shank 2) Duck (my boyfriend said the foie gras) 3) foie gras 4) steak tartare 5) shrimp I paired my apps with the veratini and my entree with the oyster bay Pinot noir. The lamb shank fell off the bone. I loved the cherry mixed in the wild rice in my duck dish. It was cooked perfectly at medium rare. The foie gras mixed with Concord grapes and poached apple paired nicely with fatty liver. The tartare was presented beautifully, it had the perfect amount of mustard. The shrimp was refreshing and cleaned our palate. We wholeheartedly enjoyed every bite of every dish and worth visiting again. ”
“ I must have walked past this place hundreds of times assuming it was a tourist trap. I was wrong. 28 years in business at a prominent corner in SoHo says something. This place is the real deal and I'm glad we finally tried it. They have a great happy hour, plenty of al fresco dining tables perfect for people watching, an inviting interior, great food, and a friendly staff. We have a winner! ”
“ Food was very delicious. Cappuccino was perfection. Omelette was really good and soft, mushrooms cooked to perfection. Croissant French toast was the best thing I've ever eaten!! French onion soup was also really good. My husband really liked it. We finished it to the last drop. Best part was my dog could join our brunch ”
“ I've been here a couple of times now with a big group. They were fabulous about accommodating us both times. It's more of a neighborhood haunt feel, which I love love love! Wish I had a place in my neighborhood like this! Food is delicious-have had the fried gnocchi, French dip, calamari and dessert (love the profiteroles and lava cake). Friends have had crab cakes, burger and coq au vin and chicken paillard and have loved it. Reasonable and delicious wines. The service is always gracious and they take care of you. While I don't live in the neighborhood this is becoming my go-to in Soho for a lovely time with good food ”
“ Despite the incredibly tight seating and a bit of a service lag toward the end of the night, Bistro Les Amis is a quintessential NYC French bistro. The menu is expansive with no corners cut. The portions are large, plated well, and prepared with care. The prices are reasonable. ”
“ Been a few years so I figure it was time for an update. French onion soup remains fantastic, genuinely one of the best I've had (melted Gruyère is the best part). Tried the duck, which I overall enjoyed but thought the flavors could've meshed together better; rice was also a touch undercooked. Dessert menu had a good selection of items but execution could've been better. The texture on the blueberry crumble was a bit weird and thought it lacked a bit of flavor (granted blueberries are out of season right now). I also didn't like the texture on the apple tart, found it very mushy, but flavor-wise thought the tartness balanced the sweetness very well. Chocolate lava cake was okay, I've had better elsewhere. That being said, service was great and I appreciated how friendly and attentive our waiter was. ”
“ We stopped in only for dessert and my gosh the blueberry crumble pie totally blew us away. I'm not a huge blueberry person but the consistency was smooth and the flavors were delicious. The ice cream scoop on top is the perfect texture and amount. We also had the tiramisu and a coffee which were awesome but the crumble was on an entirely different level. The tiramisu had a berry sauce on the side. I can't speak to the food but I would definitely come back to give it a try and to eat the pie again. The establishment is very cute in a prime location and everyone was very nice and called us beautiful. ”
